The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) has various ITS-build projects to automate ODM business processes and/or achieve strategic and long-term business goals. All of these ITS-build projects require senior Business Analyst (BA) resources to facilitate business requirements gathering sessions, document/create business requirements and process flows, translate from business requirements to system requirements, assist in UAT test cases creation, facilitate UAT testing activities and review/create user guide(s)/job aid(s) when needed. The BA also has assigned tasks in ongoing user/maintenance support activities. Currently ITS only has one state Business Analyst (BPA2) resource available. For each ITS internal-build system project, whether new or enhancement, BPA is a critical resource in facilitating communication with project stakeholders and capturing business requirements to ensure systems built will meet business needs/expectations. With increase in ODM business demand for ITS internal-build systems, ITS will need additional BA resources to keep up with overall project timeline and to meet ODM business needs/expectations. Additionally, there are critical projects, e.g. CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs & Strengths) with extensive upcoming enhancements, which will require more dedicated BA resources. There are also critical OMES project activities for ITS that will need senior BA capabilities.
